Jeff Jellin, FounderTRC Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Jeff Jellin, PharmD, began his career as a hospital pharmacist and community pharmacist and then became a pharmacy professor with tenure at University of the Pacific. Jeff’s research focused on the healthcare system’s need for enhanced services delivered by pharmacists, and ultimately led him to establish Therapeutic Research Center (TRC) in 1985. He then launched the company’s flagship publication, Pharmacist’s Letter, and later launched additional services to improve patient care, including Prescriber’s Letter, Pharmacy Technician’s Letter, Pharmacy Technicians University, Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, Ident-A-Drug, PL Journal Club, Preceptor Training and Resource Network, and others. For 28 years Jeff led programs and innovative solutions to enhance patient care and drug therapy.

Under Jeff’s leadership, TRC grew to serve 80% of all pharmacists in the U.S. and tens of thousands of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Jeff established a subscription contract with every national pharmacy chain, the Veterans Administration, Kaiser, Consumer Reports, Medscape, WebMD, National Institutes of Health, every branch of the Department of Defense, Library of Medicine, and many other governmental agencies in the U.S. and worldwide. He established cooperative agreements with over 100 colleges of pharmacy, every state pharmacy association, plus medical residency training programs nationwide. TRC became an accredited provider of continuing education by all the major relevant accreditation agencies, including those accrediting CE for pharmacists, physicians, family physicians, emergency physicians, osteopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. TRC became the largest provider of continuing education of pharmacists in the U.S.

In recognition of his career achievements to improve the drug use process in the United States, Jeff was honored with the American Pharmacists Association Pinnacle Award in 2012. The award is the Foundation’s highest recognition for Individual Career Achievement. In 2013 he was inducted into the Pharmacy Hall of Fame.
